Crazy Patchwork Notebook Cover
Prep work prior to class:
1. Press fabric using sizing spray
What you will need prior to class:
Notebook or book to cover (can be hardbound, spiral, or softbound)
Pencil/paper
Various colors of fabric; fabric scraps work best
Various colors of upper (for fancy stitch designs) and/or lower thread (for bobbin work)
Fabric marker
Straight pins
Fabric Tape measure
Fusible paper type stabilizer like butcher block paper
45 mm Rotary cutter and 17” x 24” self-healing rotary cutting mat
Sewing machine, all accessories, and book (for decorative stitching and bobbin work)
Several spare bobbins (about 5) for bobbin work
Bottom loaded machines: spare bobbin case for bobbin work
Thread stand (will be supplied in class but bring if you have one)
Side-Winder bobbin winder machine (will be supplied in class unless you have one, then bring it)
Feet needed: standard (size 0 or A or 1 depending on machine) and has space/indentation on the bottom (not the flat one)
Optional: Stitch-in-the-ditch foot
Sharp pointed scissors (Karen Kay Buckley recommended)
1/8” x 10” Elastic or learn how to make a loop (thread will be provided and will be demonstrated in class)
1” x 4” Elastic to hold pen/pencil (optional)
Button – medium size (3/4” will work depending on the size of the book)
