One Block Wonder using a Panel
Prep work prior to class:
1. Press fabric using sizing spray
2. Hang fabric on skirt or trouser hanger for transport (recommended)
What you will need:
* Seven (7) panels of the same design, one will be used as the center
* 50/2 weight neutral thread
* Optional: sashing for center panel
* Rotary cutter with a new blade, preferably 60mm
* Rotary cutting mat (24″ x 36″)
* Small iron
* Small ironing board
* Sewing machine, electrical cord, foot, and accessories
* 1/4″ foot with guide
* Creative Grids 60 degree Equilateral Triangle Ruler with blunt tip (required)
* 2-3 boxes of flat flower head pins or something comparable
* Creative Grids 4″ x 14″ ruler or one that’s comparable
| Skill Level: | Advanced |
| Skill Details: | The first day is pressing, stacking, aligning fabric, and cutting hexagons. Then homework The second day is assembling the items onto a design wall, determining size, adding the optional sashing to the panel, and possibly sewing top, bottom, then side, and more homework. The third day is making adjustments and finalizing the sewing of all sides. |
