Spicy Spiral Table Runner

Arrange fabrics from dark to light or one color family to another, then number the fabrics in the order you've decided on.
Use Best Press spray or starch to stabilize the fabric before cutting, this will help the strata strips from curving. (Strata is a group of fabrics sewn together)
Perform Cutting

Cutting prework:
Cut strips along the 22" side of the fat quarter. Cut 4 strips of each numbered fabric as follows:
Fabric 1: 3"
Fabric 2: 2 3/4"
Fabric 3: 2 1/2"
Fabric 4: 3 1/4"
Fabric 5: 2 3/4"
Fabric 6: 3"
Fabric 7: 2 1/2"
Fabric 8: 3 1/4"

Then sew fabric 1 to 2, 2 to 3, etc. with 1 on the left of 2, and 2 on the left of 3, etc.  Sew the strips on the long sides.  There should be four sets exactly the same.  Set seams and press seams in the same direction on all four sets.
