QUILT Block/Project Keeper
Wondering how to keep your block pieces together when you are going back and forth to a class or moving from spot to spot? Come make this fun project with us and have a great tool afterwards! Supply List 1. Cut 1 – 20” x WOF cotton fabric for the front of the roll. 2. Cut 1 – 20 “x WOF cotton fabric for lining. 3. Cut 1 – 20” x 42-inch quilt batting of your choice. (I used a thin batting to cut down on the thickness of the roll) 4. Cut 1 – 20” x WOF white fleece or flannel. 5. ½-yard coordinating cotton fabric for binding, tie, and end caps. 6. One - ½ inch by 6 ft insulation gray foam piping. (FYI, the ½ inch is the diameter of the inside hole of the pipe. The pipe is five inches in diameter. It is sold by the inside diameter and not the outside diameter.) I got mine at Lowe's, on Aisle 36 Bay 20. Last I checked, it was $3.78. 7. One - 5/8 in. (0.625) diameter dowel rod at least 20 inches long. I got mine at Lowe's Aisle 48 Bay 19. Last I checked $4.94. (Make sure the dowel will fit easily but not too tightly inside the hole of the piping. 8. Matching threads and bobbin threads. 9. Sewing Machine, hand sewing needle, seam ripper, tape measure, Pins, Scissors, rotary cutter, 6” x 24” ruler, , and any other sewing notions you like to use. MUST BE DONE BEFORE CLASS - Take lining, batting, and front fabric and sandwich together, as you would a quilt, and quilt it anyway you wish, bring it to class. Do not trim. We will trim in class. Do not bind quilted fabric. We will do this in class. Do not cut insulated piping or a dowel rod. We will cut these in Class. All measurements are based on using the ½ inch insulation foam piping. Bring a sack lunch of your choice. There are a refrigerator and a microwave in the classroom. For any questions, please feel free to give me a call on 850-554-3829. Thank you for signing up!
